ontals work excites many conflicting emotions. exuberant, convoluted and theatrical plots define the watchwords attached to the serbian duo. they represent one of the most paradigmatic examples of how industrial/techno can still offer a wide range of pleasant surprises. a visceral understanding of the scenic rhythm space vs. void establishes a metamorphic composition in short of an almost baroque sensitivity. always moving around an unstable fringe of intuition-rules-over-eclecticism, together with an attitude of total irreverence against the old aphorism, but keeping at the same time an incredible discipline of sophistication, produce a situation where anything touched by them have to be immediately placed at the top of the evolution line of the electronic music. “pietà” simply shows this feeling at their best.

no tag no food’ is the third 12-inch from philadelphia-based artist m//r (magnetic resonance) and his first on details sound. after releasing 2014’s well-received ‘gathering response data ep’ on great circles imprint and a single on ron morelli’s l.i.e.s., m//r is back with a strong bundle of four tracks, steadily making his mark on the scene of contemporary techno. this record is a proper electronic weapon, from the slowed down pounding impulse of total burner ‘no tag no food’ to the suspended rhythm of atmospheric idyll which brings the listener into a gravity-free dimension.

2019 repress! the pan-american highway is a network of roads measuring about 48.000 kilometres (30.000 mi) in total length. except for a rainforest break of approximately 100 km (60 mi), called the darién gap, the road links almost all of the mainland nations of the americas in a connected highway system. according to guinness world records, the pan-american highway is the world s longest -motorable road-. however, because of the darién gap, it is not possible to cross between south america and central america by road. the pan-american highway passes through many diverse climates and ecological types, from dense jungles, to arid deserts, some of which are passable only during the dry season, and in many regions driving is occasionally hazardous. jake silverstein, writing in 2006, described the pan-american highway as -a system so vast, so incomplete, and so incomprehensible it is not so much a road as it is the idea of pan-americanism itself-.

dutch powerhouse creme organization started a brand new label entitled jericho one. the man behind the first ep is berlin based brit bnjmn, who has released on label like delsin and rush hour and has a strangely melodic, lo-fi sound. opener skur is a hurried techno jam with frosty textures and bleak industrial vibes. it sets the vibe for the total feeling of the ep which is way more floor facing compared to bnjmn s earlier productions. this is a truly out there and wild ep that once again finds bnjmn experimenting on the outer fringes of the techno world in his own unique, distorted way.
